Amazon Kindle flaunts a massive library of ebooks from Amazon’s ecosystem, but some of the ebooks that we have are in outside file formats, such as PDF and EPUB.
However, as per an online story by PCMag, the e-ink Kindles, as well as the Oasis and the Paperwhite, requires its users to get their ebooks straight from Amazon.
But there’s a way to still access your EPUBs and PDFs, you’ll just have to use third-party software to do so.
According to a report by Digital Trends, the third-party software Calibre is one way to convert your EPUB ebooks as MOBI, which is the file format that Amazon supports.
It is worth noting that although EPUBs are one of the most common ebook formats out there, Amazon decided not to support it anyway. So, you are left with no choice but to turn your EPUB ebook into Amazon’s MOBI to read it on a Kindle.
The first thing that you’ll have to do is to download the Calibre app from its website. Choose among the choices, which operating system you are using, either PC, macOS, or Linux.
After which, select the “Add books” option in Calibre to upload your EPUB.
Then, select the EPUB ebook that you want to convert as a MOBI by selecting the “Convert books” button.
Make sure to select the “Output format” for MOBI.
Lastly, plug your Kindle into your computer to paste the MOBI file to your Amazon ebook reader.

On the other hand, reading PDFs on a Kindle is also possible, but it could be done after strictly following the steps below.
Just like EPUBs, Amazon has yet to support PDF formats on Kindles, but there is an option wherein it would be automatically converted into MOBI format.
This time around, you won’t need any free third-party software, which also removes the requirement to plug your Kindle into your computer.
However, you will have to access your Kindle email address.
Now, send the PDF ebook that you want to convert to your Kindle email address with a subject that says nothing else but “convert.”
It should automatically be converted into MOBI once you access it on your Kindle.
